Styx Why Me

Styx Why Me is from 1979’s Cornerstone Album, this some being yet another shining example of Dennis’s talent, far

and away the most talented individual of the group, and a major force in it’s founding and later success. However all the music always revolved around he himself, rightly or wrongly. Listen to this song as an example, everything revolves around his keyboard playing, all else secondary. However how else would you put together a song if you were a creative genius? Of course you’d center your genius, for better or worse. Dennis was the kind of guy like Kevin Cronin, sit down, boom, instantly written song.
Tommy was the 2nd best talent, and his rich supporting vocals can be heard, but at this point he was still largely an unknown quantity, he had not been withe the group long. JY, yeah, decent talent, but, we’ll leave it there. the Panozzo brothers? They simply lucked out in being part of the band, but each held their own and contributed to the overall band’s success.
Styx Why Me plays in the RadioKahuna rotation, listen in at http://listen.radionomy.com/radiokahuna and see if you can catch it! Maybe belt out the tune using the lyrics, how much of them do you know? Did you have them right or wrong? Tell us about it!

Styx Why Me Lyrics:

I guess we used to be the lucky ones
Good fortune smiled on everyone
Stop
A voice said you best beware
Stop
Bad luck is everywhere
And sure enough the voice was right
My luck changed overnight
Stop
Please tell me what went wrong
Stop
I can’t take these ups and downs

Hard times come, hard times go
And in between you hope and pray
The scars don’t show
‘Cause life is strange and so unsure
The days you hardly make it through
You swear that there’s a curse on you
‘Cause nothing seems to fit
And things won’t go your way
You know you’ve had enough
You’ve got the right to say
Why me, why me

Rubelator

Stop
Here comes anxiety
Stop
Won’t you please let me be, I need relief
Hard times come, hard times go
In between you hope and pray
The scars don’t show
‘Cause life is strange and so unsure
The days you hardly make it through
You’re sure that there is a curse on you
If nothing seems to fit
And things won’t go your way
You know you’ve had enough
You can’t take another day
Where to go and what to do
You’ve got those bills to pay
You’re really not alone you know
‘Cause everybody says,
Why me

Why me
Why me? That’s what I want to know. You know what I mean? Huh. I don’t know.
